Healthy Living

What is it to be healthy? Healthy can mean a lot of things. In this modern culture of ours, we tend to focus on physical health. Certainly as people age, their physical health changes. But does that mean that they are unhealthy?

If people in elderhood can share their life in a meaningful way that continues to give to their families and communities, then they are less likely to suffer when going through the inevitability of the aging process. Many of us have known people with harsh physical symptoms, yet they still enjoyed their lives. They experienced pain, but they didn’t suffer. They still found meaning in their lives.

At Heart and Hearth, we encourage our residents to find joy and happiness through their connections with the world. This supports their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and softens the aging process.
